What Potential RISK you’ll exploit online!

Before I officially start my posting on what potential risk you’ll exploit online, let’s watch this video…

I can also be a supernatural paranormal clairvoyant cause I know how to gain access to your personal information either online or offline. It started with a simple interest of someone else who wanted to maybe know you or harm you.

Offline method is much more risky as it involves physical contact and monetary. You can hire a private investigator and they will follow you around. Well… it also reveals the culprit who is checking on you if you manage to catch the peeping tom. So.. somehow there is a trail you could find out yourself without much problem.

Online method is much less risky for the peeping tom to find anything about yourself. It could be anywhere and everyone. Your post on FB shows what is your mood today, your username online could be access to your email access, your upload photo could contain GPS information of your whereabout, your purchase online could lead to your financial information, your password could be exploit if the website developer are careless in protecting your privacy, etc…

The risk of exploiting yourself online is great unless you are in control of what to share and what not to share. If you are not.. let’s see this Malaysian make commercial on Online Privacy.

Someone you never know in real life is now know you more than yourself! Scary right? The more scarier part that this peeping tom had multiple identity online and he is ready to con you for his good.

There is alot of ways you can protect yourself online and yet share your information online. It’s going to be a long list and normally I don’t do it for free to consult you.. Hhehe.. However I will post it on my next entry to share a few tips you can take note as precaution steps.

Be vigilant, share only to those you know, add friends that you can trust!

How secure is your password?

Today we have so many ONLINE services offering for personal/business banking, social networking, website, emails and etc… The only things that protects WHO YOU ARE and your PRIVACY SENSITIVE information stored ONLINE is your USERNAME and PASSWORD!

If you are a security analyst or IT Administrator, you know the rules of setting the right password and storing it safe! Unfortunately most of you are merely USER and have a little IT knowledge. I hope my guide would help you to be sensitive towards your password and also exploit what potential danger you might had exploit to scammer/hacker.

Today’s Technology

Many ONLINE website had already starting to offer or I can say “FORCE” you to set password that is so difficult to understand such as:

  • Your password requires 8 character long.
  • Your password must contain Alphanumeric.
  • Your password must not be the same/contain anything with your username.
  • etc…

Why are they offering/forcing you to set such password?
The answer is very simple and most of us know it. Making our life difficult or some says making it safer! Well.. regardless of what you say about it, you have to do it!

Is there a way to make it easier for us to remember the password?
YES! Indeed. Try doing this method…

Stephen Chow = $t3ph3n Ch0w
Password = P@$$w0rd
Insight = !n$!ght

Is not hard to put the symbols and numbering into a p@$$w0rd right? Of course, you learn something already.

DID YOU KNOW that by doing this you have increase the days of hacker trying to break into your account? YES! By adding extra symbols you have increase the possibility to even more! Don’t believe it? Try this website.
For example, insight is listed among common used password and will be hack almost instantly. But by using !n$!ght as password it will take 12 minute to hack into. So you make some progress here! Try to think a password that is 16 digit long and that would take the hacker longer time before he is able to hack into your account.

WoW! 16-digit long password? Are you mad?

Not mad but safe! You don’t want someone to steal your money ONLINE right or maybe posting PORN on your Facebook Wall. If you are so lazy to think of 16-digit long password, try this website.
Just type whatever password you want, could it be 3-digit short is ok! This system will generate 32-character long password and mostly contains like this:

password = 5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99
insight = a463c42856028ccaa7b3f6939ad0dfb9

You and me are blurred and definitely will not store this password in our head! So, you just need to remember the english password and you use the tool from that website to convert the passcode for you. Voila! You have your most secured password in the world!

Remember guys! I am just making small effort to strengthen your password by making it a bit harder for people to guess your password. If they manage guess it correctly but you apply my method above, he will definitely give up because you have “strengthen” your password. Now, show them you are smarter in IT by protecting yourself online!

Stay tune for next update on

Linksys WiFi crashed my internet network!

P/S: This post is from my old blog. I would like to elaborate more and some of it is added extra from the original.

Recently, my Linksys WRT54G v3.1 Wireless Router giving me damn headache which I never had for the past 2 years. It hangs my wireless and wired connection but remains CONNECTED TO INTERNET. I only able to log in to Blueserver for Warcraft III and P2P(peer to peer) application such as BitTorrent. The rest such as Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, Skype and etc does not have a connection at all.

Linksys Firmware
I browse the Internet for some latest update on Linksys WRT54G v3.1 and I found there is an updated firmware. I download it and upgrade the firmware to make sure that causes the problem. After I have reset the router and try it again, it works but only last a little longer and the shit happens back again. Tonight I am going to flash the firmware with a 3rd party application called TALISMAN. Hope it works!

TMnet is a PAIN!

P/S: This post is from my old blog. I would like to elaborate more and some of it is added extra from the original.

TMnet or TMnut?
I subscribe to TMnet StreamyX since year 2000 where I am first 500 subscriber for their services. Today I am capped using their 1Mbps package for my hunger for faster connection. Recently, I really notice there is a glitch on my BitTorrent download. Previously, my download and upload connection with the BitTorrent is between 90-100Kbps for download and 30-50Kbps for download. Today, my connection had dropped fixed at 30-40Kbps download and upload still remain the same. I heard rumours about TMnet had acquire Traffic Shaping application to block/limit P2P usage.

*Traffic shaping is an attempt to control computer network traffic in order to optimize or guarantee performance, low latency, and/or bandwidth. Traffic shaping deals with concepts of classification, queue disciplines, enforcing policies, congestion management, quality of service (QoS), and fairness.

Check this article from The Star reporter “TM Net: P2P traffic clogging broadband” at

Customer had to obey the seller
In business world especially in service industry, I had never learn from my mentor nor any books as customer had to obey the seller. Claiming itself that providing world class infrastructure and dominating the market of communication in Malaysia. I feel ashame to the spokesperson and the management which rule out such remarks in the local nationwide newspaper to its customer.

“We are not against our customers using P2P. However, it is an unfair situation which needs to be addressed, as we cannot upgrade our infrastructure (merely) for the benefit of the minority,” said Dr Fadhullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek, general manager of TM Net’s corporate and strategy services.

If you are not against customer using P2P then disable the Traffic Shaping and let us use the services at our own expenses. P2P is not merely BitTorrent, Kazaa or iMesh etc.. P2P is also includes IM file transfer, Webcam, video streaming, VPN tunnelling and FTP access.

Fair or unfair is not the issue

There is alot of issue before TMnet decides to use Traffic Shaping to deter the broadband user. If there is another competitor that provide broadband services at a little higher rate but ruling out unlimited usage without traffic shaping. I WILL SWITCH IMMEDIATELY. I am happy to use TMnet Streamyx but I just need a better broadband provider that doesn’t stop a customer from maximising use of the broadband that they provide.

We as user paid for the 1MB connection speed but were blocked from using certain application and program and the connection speed is not anyway nearer to 1MB that they providing us to have a freedom to connect the world without any LAGGING or SLOW in connection. They should be prepared that user are going to maximise use of the bandwidth that they subscribe and that makes us a “PENGGUNA BIJAK” which endorsed by Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affair.

A simple understanding as a consumer, let say TMnet server have 1,000,000KB to use. Each customer take up 1,000KB for RM88 per month for the connection. A world class company will make sure they have 1,000 user to accomodate the said server for 1,000KB subscriber. If you don’t upgrade your server and keep increasing customer to the server, what will happen in the end? We will get slower and slower connection and who knows it can accomodate up to 10,000 user. In the end everyone gets connection up to 100KB but paying at 1,000KB rates if the connection is divided equally among the 10,000 user to the server.

Do you think TMnet should blame its consumer for maximising their facilities that the consumer subscribe? Isn’t that ridiculous statement by the TMnet for not upgrading their infrastructure.

Many are not statisfied with the services provide by TMnet but we have no choice as there isn’t any competitor for TMnet. Jaring Broadband offering their package for 1Mbps at RM 79, I wish to try out their services but too bad. They have limited coverage throughout the nation. Maxis Broadband are running on fibre optics so that doesn’t bring us any nearer to the price offering by TMnet.
